Nims Dias is a counsellor dedicated to providing compassionate care to people experiencing a range of life’s challenges, while supporting them to discover their strengths, build resilience, create lasting change, and personal transformation. Having lived in five countries, her lived experiences and cross-cultural exposure inform her practice and allow her to connect with clients from all walks of life - with empathy, sensitivity, a belief in the strength of the human spirit, and that every life has meaning and purpose.
Over several years, Nims has provided counselling and mental health support across private practice and school settings in Australia and overseas. Her work has primarily focused on supporting women, adolescents, and children from diverse and often vulnerable backgrounds, many of whom have experienced trauma, relational challenges, psychological abuse, self-harm, or suicidality.
She is committed to providing care that is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and person-centred. Her approach integrates evidence-based modalities - including CBT, ACT, creative and solution-focused therapies, and grief recovery - tailored to each individual’s needs and context. She has supported clients with concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, parenting, low self-esteem, relationship conflict, suicidality, self-harm and navigating the intersection of psychological and spiritual matters.
Nims holds a Master of Counselling from Monash University, an Advanced Certificate in Counselling, a Diploma in Psychology, and training in the Grief Recovery Method. As a certified practitioner with PACFA, she upholds ethical best practices in client care, case management, and professional standards.
