Applying for a Working With Children Check
To obtain a Working With Children Check you are required to complete an online application form then lodge your application at an Australian Post Office.

1. Apply

Apply online here by scrolling down to Start Application or arrange to apply online at CityLife Community Care by contacting the Database Administrator as below.

CityLife Community Care Volunteers:
  • Apply for a “Volunteer Check” (free of charge) and complete the online form.
  • Nominate CityLife Community Care as the organisation where you volunteer. The address is P.O. Box 140, Vermont VIC 3133. CityLife Community Care will automatically receive the results of your application.*
  • For the Question “Occupational work codes”, enter 64 (Religious Organisations).
  • You will be sent an email confirming your application and instructions on lodging your application at Australia Post with a unique barcode. You can either print this email or show the email on your smart phone together with the required identification documents at Australia post to finalise your application.


2. Lodge your application at Australia Post

You will need to finalise your application at a participating Victorian Australia Post outlet.

If you verified your identity online:
  • show counter staff the barcode in the email you received from workingwithchildren@smarteform.com.au on a smart phone or a printed copy
  • present one acceptable proof of identity document that includes your photo, such as your Australian passport or driver’s licence
  • Volunteer Checks are free
  • Australia Post will take your photo at no charge
If you did not verify your identity online:
  • show counter staff the barcode in the email you received from workingwithchildren@smarteform.com.au on a smart phone or a printed copy
  • present the required proof of identity documents, including one with your photo
  • Volunteer Checks are free
  • Australia Post will take your photo at no charge.
The Department of Justice will send you an email confirming that you have passed the status of your application, and notifying you of your card number. When you receive the email confirmation from the Department of Justice, please forward this to the ministry leader who has asked you for a WWCC.

Contact us with your Receipt Number by emailing DatabaseAdmin@citylife.church or calling the Database Administrator on 9871 8300.
Updating Your WWCC to Include CityLife Community Care as a Nominated Volunteer Organisation
If you already have a WWCC with another organisation (either as an employee or volunteer) you will be required to add CityLife Community Care as a nominated volunteer organisation. CityLife Community Care will then receive notification of your WWCC status.

  • Click here to update your details (you may need to register for MyCheck Login if not already done so by following the prompts).
  • Depending on the area you are volunteering, nominate CityLife Community Care, or CityLife Church, or both as the organisation where you volunteer. The address is P.O. Box 140, Vermont VIC 3133.
  • For the Question “Occupational work codes”, enter 64 (Religious Organisations).
